Over the years, my style substantially shifted. I found myself focusing more on timeless, immaculate classic styles and whimsical pieces instead of worrying about trends. This allowed me to create staples that reflected my own personality. I started feeling more confident, sophisticated and relaxed in what I wear. These are my high quality basic pieces that are necessary for forming the foundation of your closet and building a versatile wardrobe even if you’re just starting out in college.
Pristine White collared shirt:

I love an all white button down shirt. It’s one of those pieces that are easy to elevate by adding a fitted blazer, pencil skirt or tailored jacket. You can also dress it down by pairing it with denim jeans or distressed shorts. This is one of those easy and flexible options that every woman should have in her closet.
Classic Denim (jeans/skirts):

What I absolutely love about jeans is that they’re suitable for nearly every occasion, from errands, lounging, school to work. Jeans are versatile staples that can easily be dressed up or down. They offer longevity and effortless styling. The best part is, there are a plethora of denim style options that works for most body types, providing a polished look when adding pieces like a blazer, trench coat and structured top. If you prefer more casual clothing, then add a white tee and sneakers and you’re good to go.
Tailored pants:

One thing I can always count on is a good tailored pantsuit. Tailored pants offer structure and versatility. They are essential for transitioning from work to social settings. If you’re more casual, just add a tucked in t-shirt and polished sweater. For an interview or office professional setting, go with a button up pristine shirt, some nice loafers or heels and throw on a matching blazer to take it up a notch. Go with a high rise structured fabric design for flattering the waist and elongating the legs.
Classic or Structured bag:

Yes, fast fashion bags are popular for a season, exciting to wear and may be frequently available for a few wears or so, but they’re not built to last. On the other hand, a good timeless bag will always transcend passing trends and remain fashionable for years.
LBD (Little Black Dress):

One thing is for sure: every woman love a LBD. Why? Because it offers a clean silhouette, it’s simple and shapes without heavy embellishments which allows for maximum re-styling. The adaptability from day to evening is quick and easy. Switch out daytime sneakers and denim jackets with your LBD to classic black pumps or heels for date nights. Accessorize with statement jewelry, a clutch, and hair barrette if needed. For a sophisticated work look, wear your LBD with black stockings, pumps and a polished blazer with a structured satchel bag.
Dainty Jewelry:
For me, dainty jewelry is a must because they’re high quality pieces designed for everyday wear. One of my main go-to jewelry is a delicate chain or a pendant necklace with personal significance, and a thin chain for layering. I also love a good classic timepiece, simple diamond or pearl studs, delicate chain bracelets and minimalistic rings which is great for stacking. I’m not really big on loud jewelry unless it’s a classic statement piece that brings everything together seamlessly.
Beauty must have: Red lipstick

If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know that a luscious red lipstick is my signature lip color. I truly believe that a classic red lipstick can elevate your makeup look which automatically compliments what you’re wearing. A good red lipstick offers a versatile, bold, and empowering look that elevates simple to timeless outfits. It acts as a statement accessory, making it ideal for any look pairing which creates a chic, balanced, and confident appearance. MAC, Dior, Chanel and Pat McGrath Labs are my go-to for red lipstick because their formulas are intensely pigmented and versatile which work across different skin tones. So be bold and grab that red lipstick you’ve been contemplating. It will make your skin look more even and instantly boost your confidence.
